Helping you explore and refine your creative direction

Creativity coaching for practice

This creativity coaching is for you, if you’re stuck on a project, you have a project you want to get started on, or you want to figure out how to create structure for your multiple ideas.

Welcome, I’m glad you´re here!

We can practice together, and explore creativity and playfulness in very small gentle steps.

The creative process is joyful, aaand a little tricky

There’s no way around it; if you want to create something new, you’re going to have to go through the messy process of creating “it”.

The initial enthusiasm will carry you some of the way, but usually not all the way, and before you know it, the steam train slows down, before coming to a complete stop.

This is when creativity coaching can be useful help.

Learning tools that will help you deal with those feelings that pop up, about not being good enough somehow, or letting the mental drama play out in your head that makes you so overwhelmed by the whole thing, you end up watching your favorite show on Netflix instead….that’s the tricky bit in the creative process.

This is when is helps to talk to someone who “speaks creativity”, and knows how to gently help you move through the tricky stages in the process. That’s me :)

Examples of situations I have helped clients with

  • Moving away from traditional law, to a more human approach to conflict solving for creatives with IP issues. Multi passion work.

  • Writing and illustrating a book to help children and families with neurodiversity. (This is getting published)

  • Clarity around what creative project to focus on, out of several, and bringing them together on one website. Multi passion work.

… and many more

Creative coaching with me looks something like this:

Seven 60-minute calls via Zoom every other week.

We always start by looking at your work, interests and how you got to be where you are now.

Our sessions are mostly conversational, there’s no rigid framework. I have 10 years experience coaching and lots of creative tools in my rucksack.

Maybe accountability is what works for you, maybe it’s loose structure, or something else that’ll unlock your creative work. It’ll be revealed during our time together.

Gently we’ll find a path that is doable for you to use in your creative process sustainably in the long run.

Why the approach of kaizen-muse creativity coaching is fantastic for creative work

  • It’s process-focused, so we’ll look at how you work, and use small steps, and self-kindness to move forward. This sustainable way of working will serve you in all areas of your life going forward.

  • This coaching is especially useful and effective for creatives who prefers gentle small steps, and self-kindness at the heart of work.

  • Kaizen-muse creativity coaching honors the creative personality, and the non-linear process of creativity.
The creative personality is often rebellious, stubborn and smart and don’t take orders well, so a rigid “Let me tell you what to do”-approach won’t work. You know yourself best.

Some examples of past creative coaching clients

I’ve had the great honor of helping wonderful (mainly) women over the years with various versions of creative processes.

A creative process is unique to the person creating, and so will the coaching process also be. Here are a few of the lovely people that have come to me, each with their unique set of challenges.

You might recognize these challenges, yet the coaching process has been deeply personal for each and every one.

  • Graphic designer who wanted help with creating own work outside of job

  • IP Lawyer who wanted help with a new and more creative direction for her practice.

  • Math tutor who wanted help combining her other interests into her website.

  • Child psychiatrist specializing in neurodiversity wanting help with writing a zine (getting published)

  • Painter and meme creator wanting help with getting web shop ready

  • Multidisciplinary artist and actor wanting help with self-doubt and overwhelm

Hi, I’m your creative coach Katja (pronounced catch-ya)

As a multi-creator myself, I have spent years being a generalist. This has given me many skills, vast experience in different industries, and I wouldn’t be without those years.

Now I use all that knowledge and experience helping other creatives, with multiple interests and skills, specialize in their own creative processes for creative projects, which can also include a business.

My clients don’t share industry. What they have in common, apart from being seriously lovely, creative, and skilled women, is that the projects they want to create are good’ns.

If we can ditch the filter of perfection, and cut through some of the bs and good girl expectations, I believe (and see) creative women able to do important work, with positive benefits for other people and communities.

We are simply ordinary people capable of creating fun, useful, nice things.

Sophie DeWitt

“Katja is incredibly thoughtful, engaging, and receptive. She was exceptionally prepared and was willing to meet me where I was in my process with intention, care, and important questions.

If you're looking for guidance and a way to work through a pain point or brainstorm your business, I highly recommend Katja's services”

Annalisa - Italy

“Katja helped me overcome obstacles and organize my work in such a calm state of mind, which was exactly what I needed. With her warm attitude and exceptional knowledge, she got me to access the power within me without feeling stressed or frustrated.”
